Lately I’ve been super busy with school, finishing up one term and launching into another. But I always manage to come up with some crafty distractions. In the past few weeks, I’ve cleaned out and organized my craft zone in my apartment, covering boxes with fabric to make them look verra nice. I’ve learned the ripple stitch and started on a crocheted baby blanket, added some tongue-in-cheek needlepoint to a throw pillow for a friend’s housewarming, and created a D-Day themed birthday cake.

i have to say how much i LOVE waste canvas. it really streamlines the whole process and makes it look really nice and uniform in the end. all you need to stitch anything onto anything is graph paper and waste canvas. here’s the final results:
lastly, the humble beginnings of my first baby blanket. i knew i wanted to use the ripple pattern, so i googled tutorials and found a FANTASTIC one on youtube:
this is how mine is coming along:

next on my list: a crochet amigurumi tiger doll… stay tuned in!
